I don’t understand your explanation of PLTR example of rolling out 29d - you’re in for a debit of .54 so how do you make any profit as you mention a 2:1 profit ratio. Whatever you sold the original contract is now decreased by this debit?

I have learned a lot from Henry and few more guys. Just want to share the way I have been doing things since I started 1 month ago, I consider myself not even a rookie. I only do weekly calls and puts. I wait for red days of 2% or below to place puts at 20 delta giving me premium 1% week for it. If current premium is close to the 1% at 20 delta but not there yet, I set the limit manually and wait a little longer until I get the 1% premium, looking at the range where the premium has been trading for that particular day and aim on the upper range of it, chances are it could go back to it again. I don't get greedy for more than 20 delta, if I get more than 1% weekly ROI deal the delta condition has to be met too. I only write calls on green days, aiming when the jump is 2% or higher. Same idea for selecting the call premium parameters. The moment a put or call is close to 80% of profit I buy to close and walk away from deal. Many times it takes one or two days after writing the contract. Worst case scenario, wait till Friday and get assigned the put if you want or milk it and roll for following week. If during the week a put or call is getting right close to the strike price, I roll it for the following week and monitor for 80% profit condition until next Friday expiration. My worst case scenario is making least 52% ROI on that investment based on timeframe the money was committed. Covered calls are rolled for as long as it takes to NOT get them taking away like Henry says. Cash secured Puts, milk them for as long as I want until I agree with getting stocks assigned. My goal is NOT making a specific dollar amount weekly/monthly but how HIGH of an ROI I can achieve/maintain with the money that I have to invest. That's all. All proceeds from my deals are invested into high paying dividend stocks and forget about it. After 2,000 stocks from one company, move on to the next stock. Rinse and repeat. My ultimate goal is to make $10K/month from these dividend stock accounts, NOT from call/put investments. This type of investment is only a mean to an end, luckily I can do this for many years until these different high dividends stock investment combined pay me a steady $10k/month while I enjoy life without touching a computer again.

One of the best financial moves I made in my working years was to fully fund a Roth account each year. Now I sell covered calls in that account and I don't have to worry about taxes if a stock I've held for a long time is called away. I know you are much younger than me, but a Roth is an important alternative to a regular brokerage account for retired investors. I don't mind selling calls in my Roth account, but I am really cautious about selling covered calls in my brokerage account. The taxes on a stock that has appreciated 3000-4000% are really significant in a regular brokerage account if it gets called away.
